- 4th Plenary Meeting of the Network. It will be held on a date to be determined during the month of April 2021.
Tutorial (in Spanish): Introducción al aprendizaje automático (Introduction to machine learning)
Machine learning is a branch of artificial intelligence that aims to develop computer systems that learn from data, allowing, for example, to identify patterns, recognize objects in images, or predict the evolution of variables or the occurrence of events. It has applications in multiple fields such as Industry 4.0, e-commerce, medicine, education or economics, to name just a few.
A 3-hour tutorial on the topic will be taught on Friday, 16 April 2021, 11:00-14:00 by three Go2Edge members: Dr. Ramón J. Durán Barroso (Universidad de Valladolid), Dr. Ignacio de Miguel (Universidad de Valladolid) and Dr. José Alberto Hernández (Universidad Carlos III de Madrid). The tutorial will be taught in Spanish, and by videoconference. Go2Edge members are invited to attend. Please, note that registration is required, no later than 15 April 2021, at https://forms.gle/fdbni8DEKXypEXwE7.
The tutorial will provide an introduction to machine learning and in particular to the following aspects: (1) what is machine learning, focusing on supervised learning, (2) review of various learning models (linear models, neural networks, …), (3) how to choose a learning model (validation techniques) and evaluate its performance, and (4) how to select the features to be used in these systems. This activity is organized by Go2Edge in collaboration with the Doctoral Program in Information and Telecommunications Technologies at Universidad de Valladolid and the Interreg V-A Spain-Portugal 2014-2020 program (0667_DISRUPTIVE_2_E) financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF)
3rd Go2Edge Plenary Meeting
On January 2021, the third Go2Edge plenary meeting was held in a virtual environment too. The correct functioning of the network was verified to date during the meeting. In addition, the following network activities were planned taking into account the restrictions due to the COVID-19 and the development of joint research work as well as the joint submission of project proposals was promoted.
Workshop Go2Edge – Edge Computing Networks, Systems and Services
On 11 December 2020 the workshop: “Go2Edge Edge Computing Networks, Systems and Services”, in the 11th EAI International Conference on Broadband Communications, Networks and Systems (Broadnets 2020) was organized. The workshop was held in a virtual environment and it was open to everyone.
Two synchronous sessions were organized, in which the network was introduced, and then 6 papers were presented by Go2Edge members. Members of the network and external researchers attended this workshop.
2nd Go2Edge Plenary Meeting
The second plenary meeting of the network was held in a virtual environment. During the same, the correct functioning of Go2Edge was verified to date, the following network activities were planned taking into account the restrictions due to the COVID-19 and the development of joint research work as well as the joint submission of project proposals was promoted.
Conference “The Way of The DAO: Towards Decentralizing the Tactile Internet” by Martin Maier (INRS).
The Go2Edge network in collaboration with the PhD programme in Information and Telecommunications Technologies of the Universidad de Valladolid, organized the conference “The Way of The DAO: Towards Decentralizing the Tactile Internet” taught by prof. Martin Maier of the Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique – INRS (Montréal, Canada). This event was held during the I Go2Edge Workshop and was attended by members of the network along with professors and students of the aforementioned PhD programme.
I Workshop Go2Edge – Kick-off Meeting
The first Go2Edge workshop was held on 12 and 13 February 2020 in Valladolid ETS de Ingenieros de Telecomunicación of the Universidad de Valladolid, Valladolid. In this workshop all the member groups of the network were presented showing their main lines of work for the search for synergies and collaborations in joint research works and in consortia to submit project proposals. During the workshop, the first plenary meeting of the network was also held, which established the mode of operation and management of the network. In addition to the members of the network, prof. Martin Maier from the Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique – INRS (Montréal, Canada) participated in the event as a renowned international researcher showing the current lines of work of his research group and giving the conference “The Way of The DAO: Towards Decentralizing the Tactile Internet”.
